Law in Contemporary Society
The reason why I decided to pursue a career in the law can be summarized in a few deeply meaningful words: “Co-ed Naked Band: Do it to the Rhythm.” For the deeper meaning of these words, please refer to Pyle v. School Committee of South Hadley, 667 N.E.2d 869 (Mass. 1996). Though the United States Supreme Court has probably made Pyle a moot point, the case remains meaningful to me because learning about it taught me that the law was something applicable to every day life that could empower people. After I graduated college, I worked with the law at the street level as an investigator at this place: http://www.nyc.gov/html/ccrb/. This experience confirmed what I already knew about the law and gave me the incentive I needed to hurry up and start law school.
