Law in Contemporary Society
-- PetefromOz - 20 Jan 2009

The first question is ought not to be "Why do you want to be a lawyer?", but rather "Why study law?". Legal training teaches analytical skills, writing and oral expression to a degree rarely matched by any other degree. The Juris Doctor qualification is widely recognized and respected, providing many opportunities to those who hold it. From this base then, it is appropriate to ask why one would want to become a lawyer. In fact, I became a lawyer more than 5 years ago.
