What I Wanted

When I arrived at law school I wanted to leave in three years with a job. In addition to a job, I wanted to leave with the tools and ability to protect those people and things that were most important to me. I wanted to be able to support my parents after my mother's retirement, if need be, and to purchase the land bordering their property so that it would not be developed. I wanted to become useful to my friends and family so if there were ever a situation in which legal council was needed, a very likely idea, I would be able to provide it, or put them in contact with a reliable person who could.

I wanted to write poetry.
