Law in Contemporary Society
I am in law school because I believe law to be the best means of counterbalancing the negative forces affecting democracy, globalization and the environment. In my mind, only through law can people hold their leaders accountable, stop multinational corporations from destroying domestic markets, or slow the destruction of the world and its resources. I do not claim to be an altruist or selfless servant of the public interest; I went to law school because injustice upsets me. I hope that as a lawyer, I will be able to change some of the things that I believe to be wrong with today’s world.
